01. Overview & What Kindid Is

Kindid (“Kindid”, “we”, “us”, or “our”) operates the Kindid platform at kindid.in. Kindid is a social network designed around authentic, real-world community moments, dual-camera photo captures, real place hubs, and campus connections without artificial vanity metrics.

This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect when you use Kindid, how that information is used, how it is stored, and your rights regarding your data.

02. Information We Collect

We collect only the information necessary to provide, secure, and operate the Kindid service:

• Account Information: When you register an account, we collect your username (handle), display name, email address, and a salted password hash. If you choose to register or log in using Google Sign-In, we receive your verified Google account email, name, and avatar metadata via Google Identity Services.
• Profile Details: You may optionally provide a bio, campus or college affiliation, city location name, avatar photo, or cover image.
• User Content (Moments & Posts): Content you create and publish on Kindid, including dual-camera photos (primary and selfie captures), optional 3-second ambient audio clips captured with photos, captions, reactions (KindMojis/emojis), community posts, and "I Was There" moment cluster assertions.
• Direct Messages & Chat: Text messages exchanged between users in direct messaging channels, including message content, sender ID, recipient ID, and timestamp records.
• Coarse Location & Campus Context: Location tags (campus name, city name, or place tag) manually attached to posts or communities. We do NOT perform background GPS tracking or continuous live location harvesting.
• Technical & Log Data: Basic HTTP request headers, IP address, user-agent string, and session authentication tokens required for server request processing, security monitoring, and session management.

03. How We Use Your Information

We process your data strictly to operate and improve Kindid:

• To authenticate your identity and secure your account access.
• To render your profile, published moments, feed cards, community hubs, and chat conversations.
• To power local campus, community, and moment cluster discovery features.
• To deliver transactional communications, such as password reset verification emails.
• To enforce our Terms of Service, prevent spam, block abusive behavior, and maintain community safety.

05. Sharing & Privacy Controls

Public Content vs Private Content: Content posted with public visibility or in public communities can be viewed by other Kindid users. If you set your profile visibility to Private, your profile details and moments are restricted according to your privacy settings.

Chat Communications: Direct messages are stored on our servers to enable delivery and moderation. Messages are transmitted using standard Transport Layer Security (TLS/HTTPS) encryption.

06. Data Security & Retention

We employ industry-standard security measures, including HTTPS/TLS encryption in transit, salted password hashing, and anti-IDOR authentication checks on API endpoints.

We retain your data for as long as your account remains active. You may request deletion of your account and associated personal data at any time by contacting us.

07. Age Requirement

Kindid is intended for users who are at least 13 years of age (or the minimum age of digital consent in your jurisdiction). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
